I love yoga and hate running (plus running is bad on the knees) i want to thin out my legs… will yoga work?

Yoga is so gentle, I never think of it as a workout but a way to relax

Running is not bad on the knees if you have the right shoes. If you want a result, you need to work for it. Run.
Swimming will not cause any trauma to your knees, and will help “thin out your legs.” Mostly though, you have to lose weight in general. Exercise will tone muscle, but you can’t target an area to lose weight. Being strong and fit is more important than just being thin. IMO.
