In this particular case, even the best hiking boot / shoe (light or heavy) isn’t going to solve your problem.
In your case, an ‘weak’ ankle needs more substantial support, for example, a quality ankle brace such as the DonJoy stabilising ankle brace. It’s made from sturdy, non-stretch fabric and is laced up then stabilised with straps that stay in place with hook-and-loop fasteners. It will fit under a boot without going up half a shoe size.
Before being ill-advised by people having a particular personal preference for a brand or make, high shoes will not be the answer. It makes sense: for a high shoe to provide that type of support means that it has to be an ultra-thight fit around your ankle. And that’s not possible and highly uncomfortable. With a brace you can stick to a lighter option re: footwear.
Perhaps a sport-physiotherapist could provide you with some good advise.

In your case I don’t think a light weight hiking boot is your safe bet. You need something with substantial ankle support and that is not something you will get with a light weight boot. It would also help if your pack is as light as possible, this way there is less weight on your ankle. You should be able to hike the entire AT with a pack no heavier at 30lbs max.
